Master Requirements Writing
Stop guessing. Start writing.
Good requirements are the foundation of good projects. When requirements are vague or unrealistic, teams waste time debating interpretation, scope drifts, and delivery is delayed.
This training helps you bridge the gap between identifying requirements and documenting them clearly and effectively. It is tutor-led and hands-on: you learn by doing in a shared whiteboard, with real-time guidance and feedback. By the end, you should feel capable and confident applying what you’ve learnt in your day-to-day work.

Why this training matters
Clear requirements reduce misunderstandings, avoid unnecessary project delays and improve collaboration across teams. In practical terms, they help you agree what “done” looks like before anyone starts building, configuring or changing anything.
Because the sessions are interactive, you do not just hear what “good” looks like—you practise writing it, refining it and stress-testing it with a tutor in the room. That active learning approach is the core of the course.

What makes it hands-on
Most requirements training is lecture-heavy. You leave with notes, then try to apply them later—alone, under pressure, on real projects. We do it differently:
Hands-on work happens throughout both days, with increasing focus on application and refinement as the course progresses.
Participants write and improve requirements in real time.
Wording, structure and clarity are refined as you work, not days later.
You learn simple frameworks and use them straight away during the sessions.
What you will learn
You will learn, step by step, how to write requirements that are testable and unambiguous—so they can be understood, reviewed and acted on without guesswork.
The session introduces established methods such as INCOSE rules and the EARS (Easy Approach to Requirements Syntax) approach and shows you how to use them effectively in everyday project work. You will also learn the Amalia good practices for writing consistent, high-quality, good requirements.
Eliminate vague or unclear wording for better clarity and understanding
Replace overly complex phrasing with clarity and logic
Write requirements that are precise, testable and verifiable
Structure requirements using glossaries, lists, diagrams and logical grouping
Distinguish needs from requirements and write each appropriately
Turn incomplete or inconsistent input into clear, usable documentation
The Amalia approach to Writing Requirements
In addition to established methods, the course teaches the Amalia way of writing requirements, focusing on repeatable quality and consistency.

You will learn how to apply good practices such as:
Using consistent terminology supported by a style guide and glossary
Avoiding vague, superfluous, or ambiguous words and expressions
Writing explicit, bounded statements using active voice
Applying units, ranges, and tolerances correctly
Avoiding unclear references, cross-references, and negative phrasing
Ensuring every requirement is verifiable
These practices help turn “good” requirements into documentation that remains clear and usable over time.
